How to manage Notification in Microsoft Teams?
Notification is essential part of Teams, because without knowing the Teams activity you cannot respond, and notification is the only way to gets all information about Teams activity, like someone @mentions, send chats, likes your comments etc.
When you set a channel as favorite in Teams, then that channel will be visible in your teams list, but you will not receive notification until you follow that channel, once you follow the channel you will receive direct notifications whenever there is new activity.
There are multiple notification options, click your profile picture at the top of the app and then click Settings and then Notifications. On Notification page you customize what notifications you receive and how they appear. Below figure shows Teams desktop client notification.
- Under Mentions, you can choose notification for, Personal, Channel or Team mentions.
- Under Messages, you can choose notification for, Chat messages, Replies to conversations I started, Replies to conversations I replied to, Likes, Followed channels.
- Under Other, you can choose notification for, Teams membership changes, Team role changes, Sound, Email frequency, chat with Skype for Business.
For Teams mobile client (iOS and Android):
To customize your notifications, tap More > Settings > Notifications. From there tap Open settings to access your iOS settings for Teams. Then tap Notifications > Allow notifications to determine how you want to view Teams notifications.
How to change Teams Client Theme and Language?
To change Theme and Teams language, open Teams client and then click your profile picture at the top of the app and then click Settings and then General option were you can change Theme, application startup or language.
- Choose Theme, Like Default, Dark, High contrast
- Choose application startup, like Auto-start application, open app in background, on close, keep application running.
- Choose the require language, by default is “English”, refer the below figure for above setting.
