Issue: Unable to join Broadcast as event team using Skype for Business client

 

Error message:Sorry, you don't have permission to join the meeting. Please request access from the meeting organizer or sign in using a different account.

 

Sorry, you don’t have permission to create meeting.

 

Resolution:

 Skype Meeting Broadcast event team member gets above error when they join as presenter / event team member in broadcast. This error is because user don’t have required license assigned.

 

Basically, user must have Skype for Business Online license assigned in order to use Skype Meeting Broadcast event member.

 

Note: you must have Office365 License admin or global admin permission to assign license.

  1. Login to the https://portal.office.com> click on Admin
  2. Click on Users > Active users > type user name in search box then press Enter button from keyboard.
  3. Once user found click on user > Once user properties open click on “Edit” in Product licenses.
  4. Once Product License page opens then click on assigned license drop arrow. Below sowed example is E3 plan license. Refer below image.
     
     
  5. Turn On Skype for Business Online (plan 2) license to use Skype Meeting Broadcast. Refer below image.
  6. Once Skype for Business Online (plan 2) license enables, you can setup new broadcast and make event to affected user for testing.
